The cyan palette

The first in the subtractive colour system. Cyan is something between green and blue. It is a synonym of aqua (Latin for water) yet it gains its name from Prussian blue, containing the cyanide ion.

This collection of photos is here to render tribute to the 490 and 520 nm range.

La Voix du Nord

La Voix du Nord

La Voix du Nord

These three statues stand above the building of the regional newspaper ‘La Voix du Nord’ in Lille, France. They represent the three graces, the three ancient provinces of the region. Today, the regions are (roughly) Flanders, Artois and Hainaut.

Cumulus clouds
