The cyan palette
The first in the subtractive colour system. Cyan is something between green and blue. It is a synonym of aqua (Latin for water) yet it gains its name from Prussian blue, containing the cyanide ion.
This collection of photos is here to render tribute to the 490 and 520 nm range.
Bejn il-Kmiemen
Or, ‘Between the cominos’. This picture was taken at the Blue Lagoon Bay in Malta. Where the amazingly clear water is the perfect example of Cyan.
La Voix du Nord
These three statues stand above the building of the regional newspaper ‘La Voix du Nord’ in Lille, France. They represent the three graces, the three ancient provinces of the region. Today, the regions are (roughly) Flanders, Artois and Hainaut.
Cumulus clouds
There is always sunshine, above the clouds.
The beauty of these clouds struck me as the light was fading away on an autumn afternoon.
The heron
Down along the creek, I remember something.
Her, the heron hurried away. When first I breeched that last Sunday.
The joy of singing
Caught this guy as it was singing between the bushes. You might be reminded of the green palette here, and yes, you are right. This is the hidden one, although, it’s in the shadows now.
